Ukrpol Printing Company has joined the Ronald McDonald House Charities, making an important contribution to the mission of helping children facing serious illnesses. In October 2023, the foundation celebrated its 7th anniversary, committing itself to creating a cosy and comfortable environment for families of seriously ill children.
A charity evening was recently held in Kyiv, which was an important step in raising funds for the construction of the first Ronald McDonald House in Ukraine. Among the guests were Serhii Kovalchuk, CEO of Ukrpol Printing Company, Roman Petryliak, Commercial Director, and Nazar Kakhniy, Manager.
The organisers of the meeting, Galyna Solovey, Director of the Ronald McDonald House Foundation in Ukraine, and the general partner of the event, Yulia Badritdinova, CEO of McDonald's in Ukraine, defined the main goal of the event as raising funds for the construction of the Ronald McDonald House for families of seriously ill children.
The key stage of the event was a charity auction, where each participant could buy paintings, books, designer items and unique events, directing their funds to charity. Thanks to the generosity of the participants and the support of our partners, an amount of UAH 9 million was raised.
The funds will be used to start construction of the first Ronald McDonald House in Ukraine. This special house, located on the territory of the National Children's Specialised Hospital "Ohmatdyt" in Kyiv, will be a place where families can be close to their children during treatment.
The house will have an area of about 3,500 square metres, five floors and 50 rooms for families. This will allow for the accommodation of 2,600 children and their parents each year. Families will have access to all the necessary amenities, such as kitchens, playrooms, a library and open space.
The event organisers hope that the Ronald McDonald House will become not only a place to stay, but also a centre providing free accommodation and meals. In addition, families will be provided with psychosocial and household assistance.
By promoting the concept of a family-centred approach to childcare, the foundation is developing the idea of parents becoming active partners in their children's treatment. The project aims to give families the opportunity to maintain unity and comfort, even in the most difficult moments.
